Latest News: TTD: Adulterated ghee.. Former Chairman YV Subbareddy PA arrested

SIT officials on Wednesday detained Kadur Chinna Appanna (35), personal assistant (PA) of former TTD chairman and senior YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy, in connection with the TTD adulterated ghee case. Officials said that the SIT conducted a lengthy investigation into his connections in the adulterated ghee supply case and arrested him based on evidence.

Going into details, Chinna Appanna, a resident of Pamulavalasa in Therlam mandal of Vizianagaram district, oversees the personal and business affairs of YV Subbareddy, based in Hyderabad. SIT officials believe that he played a key role in supplying adulterated ghee to TTD.

In this context, on Wednesday, the SIT office in Tirupati was called for investigation. Three DSPs and three CIs from the CBI offices in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam announced the arrest of Chinna Appanna after a lengthy interrogation. After the arrest, he was taken to Tirupati Ruia Hospital for medical examination.

After that, he was taken to the Nellore ACB Court to be produced. Since it was night time, the accused will be produced at the judge’s residence. In the remand report, Chinna Appanna was mentioned as A-24 (24th accused). Earlier, on June 4, when Chinna Appanna was called for the SIT investigation, there was a commotion in the YV Subbareddy faction.

Immediately after that, YV Subbareddy approached the High Court challenging the continuation of the Tirupati Additional SP as the investigating officer in this case.The High Court has stayed the investigation.The investigation resumed after about three and a half months on the orders of the Supreme Court. It is noteworthy that this key arrest was made just a few days after the investigation began.

There are speculations that with the arrest of Chinna Appanna, notices are also likely to be issued to YV Subbareddy and questioned, and there are indications that more arrests will be made in this case.
