
Hyderabad: Transport Department officials have clarified the ongoing campaign to replace old vehicles with High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) in the state.By September 30thThey clarified that there is no truth in the news that fines will be imposed if these plates are not affixed, and motorists need not worry. For the past few days, there has been a campaign that HSRP plates are mandatory for old vehicles and that RTA officials and traffic police will take strict action against those who do not change them by the specified deadline (September 30) . Transport department officials have denied this campaign. They clarified that no deadline has been set for affixing HSRP plates to old vehicles so far. Officials said that at present, the issue of changing number plates for old vehicles is under the government’s consideration.
