A serious accident has occurred at London Southend Airport. A small passenger plane, a ‘Beach B200 Super King Air’ , crashed minutes after takeoff. The tragic incident took place on its way from London to Lelystad in the Netherlands. Was a technical fault the cause? Or was it weather conditions? An investigation is underway.
Temporary closure of the airport
Southend Airport was temporarily closed by authorities following the crash. A tight security cordon was put in place around the crash site. Other flights from the airport were also affected. Firefighters and emergency medical teams were immediately called to the scene and began rescue operations.
