Vijayawada: State Chief Secretary CS K. Vijayanand said that transmission network projects worth about Rs. 12,000 crore have been undertaken under the auspices of AP Transco across the state. He said that APTransco is undertaking transmission projects worth over Rs. 12,000 crores to meet the growing demand for electricity in the state, to provide uninterrupted quality electricity to the consumers and to strengthen the electricity transmission network , out of which 7 projects worth Rs. 155.04 crores have been successfully completed in the last two months. He also said that 62 projects worth Rs. 8,131 crores are currently in various stages of implementation and permissions have been granted to undertake 5 projects worth Rs. 363.13 crores. The CS said that tenders have been invited for another 31 electricity transmission works worth Rs. 3,614 crores.

The Chief Secretary of the State Government has directed the AP TRANSCO officials to complete these projects at the earliest. He has directed that projects in priority areas like industrial corridors and urban clusters in the state should be reviewed on a daily basis and progress reports should be submitted weekly.
