New Delhi. Another strategic change is going to happen in India’s military power. Now there is a plan to deploy Israel’s deadly long range Lora (Long Range Artillery) ballistic missiles along with the Brahmos supersonic cruise missile on the Indian Air Force’s state-of-the-art Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jets. This decision is going to give a new edge to India’s ‘house to house strike’ policy, which will further strengthen India’s reach and influence capability on Pakistan and China.
A state-of-the-art tactical ballistic missile from Aerospace Industries
The Lora missile is a state-of-the-art tactical ballistic missile of Israel Aerospace Industries ( IAI ), which has a range of 400-430 kilometers. Its biggest feature is its ability to target very accurately. Its circular error probability ( CEP ) is less than 10 meters, which means that the missile falls very close to its target. On the other hand, the Brahmos missile is already a part of the Indian military system, which has a range of 290 to 450 km and it destroys the enemy’s command center at supersonic speed.
This combination will become a ‘deadly trio’ for India
When deadly missiles like BrahMos and LoRa are deployed on fighter jets like Sukhoi-30MKI , this combination will become a ‘Deadly Trio’ for India. LoRa can be launched without crossing the border, giving the Indian Air Force a strategic edge in deep-strike operations. This missile can hit targets from Islamabad and Karachi in Pakistan to areas like Lhasa and Xinjiang in China.
The capability of the Lora missile was seen during the Israel-Iran conflict
The potential of the Lora missile was recently seen during the Israel-Iran conflict, when Israel used it with precision on strategic targets inside Iran. India is also now moving towards such a capability where it will have the power not only to retaliate across the border but also to strike first if needed. This step will further strengthen India’s growing strategic self-reliance, deterrence and global military position .

How many ballistic missiles does India have?
India has several ballistic missiles, some of the major ones are: Agni-I, Agni-II, Agni-III, Agni-IV, Agni-V, Prithvi-II, and Dhanush. Apart from this, India also has submarine-launched ballistic missiles like K-4 and K-5.
