
Hyderabad: It is known that five people died due to electrocution after a cable wire hit a procession chariot held as part of the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations in Gokhalenagar, Ramanthapur . The incident has become a topic of discussion across the state. Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka has ordered the officials to immediately remove the wires, citing the cable wires installed on the electricity poles as the reason for the loss of five lives.

Justice Nagesh Bhimapaka, who took up the matter on Wednesday, questioned that the issue is not cable restoration, but who is responsible for the lives of the people. How can the central and state governments, GHMC and service providers shake hands with whom? Everyone is responsible for this tragedy. The High Court (TG High Court) commented that people should be treated with some mercy. However, the petitioner’s lawyer told the court that they are paying money for using electricity poles. However, they said that the cable wires are being cut without giving any prior notice and that services have been disrupted in many places due to internet disruption. The lawyer for TGSPDCL said that if people’s lives are being lost, why have internet services? It was brought to the court’s attention that there are cables beyond the limit for electricity poles. In this context, the High Court has issued notices to TGSPDCL and GHMC on the issue of removal of cables on electricity poles. The next hearing has been adjourned to Friday. It has been ordered not to remove the cable wires till then .
