To control the flood pressure, the authorities are lifting 69 gates of the barrage and releasing 2,97,000 cusecs of water downstream. Due to this release of water, the people of the low-lying areas in the Krishna catchment areas have been advised to be alert.

Fishermen have been ordered not to go fishing.

Officials are warning that the flood flow from Pulichintala is likely to increase further. They said that the water level may rise within the next two to three hours, and that there is a possibility of issuing the first flood warning . In this context, officials have already issued an alert to all departments. Officials have already alerted the people of the Krishna river basin. Fishermen have been ordered not to go hunting. People in the low-lying areas of the joint Krishna district have also been alerted. In the joint Krishna district, rains are falling continuously due to low pressure.
