India’s leading IT company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has launched a massive program to equip its employees with artificial intelligence (AI). According to the details revealed by the company’s CTO Harik Win , it has decided to provide AI training to at least ‘1 lakh employees’ every year. He said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the rapidly growing AI-based technologies across the world. As part of this training, employees will be able to gain practical experience on AI tools through hackathons, live projects and simulations.
TCS currently has ‘5.93 lakh employees’ worldwide. Experts say that training such a large workforce in the field of AI is a significant step in the global IT sector. With AI-based knowledge now becoming key in every business sector, analysts believe that this type of training will increase employee productivity and technical creativity. Companies like Google, Microsoft, and Infosys have already focused on AI skill development. However, TCS aims to further strengthen its dominance in the future IT market by implementing it more widely.
Harik Win said, “If every organization does not make its employees skilled in AI in the current situation, it risks being left behind in the future competition.” He believes that in this phase of rapid technological change, it is imperative to integrate AI into their daily activities. He said that with this training, employees will be able to easily use aspects like machine learning, data analytics, and automation in their projects. As a result, experts predict that TCS will become a ‘global leader in AI-based solutions’, not just an IT services provider.
