Today Gold Rate 18/10/25 : Gold and silver prices in India continued to remain high today. On October 17, US President Donald Trump signaled that the decision to impose 100 percent tariffs on China would not last long, (Today Gold Rate 18/10/25) gold prices in the international market declined slightly, but still remained at record levels. Gold prices have fallen more than 2 percent since crossing $4,300 per ounce on October 17. Spot gold was trading at $4,211.48, while futures gold for December delivery stood at $4,213.30 .
Experts suggest that today is a good time to buy gold on the occasion of Dhanteras. Being a Saturday, all trading markets are closed till Monday (October 20). However, according to the Indian Bullion Association, the prices of gold and silver were recorded as follows till 8 am today.
Gold, silver — investors’ ‘safe haven’
According to financial experts, gold and silver are considered safe investments for investors. In the last 20 years, gold prices have increased from ₹7,638 (in 2005) to over ₹1,00,000 (in 2025), a growth of 1,200%. Gold has given positive returns in 16 of these years. Year-to-date (YTD) gold prices have increased by 31%.
Silver prices have also held strong. They have been hovering above ₹1 lakh per kg for the past few months. Records show that silver prices have increased by 668% in the last 20 years.

According to the Indian Bullion Association, the price of 24 carat gold is ₹1,27,320 / 10 grams, while the price of 22 carat gold is ₹1,16,710 / 10 grams. The price of silver is recorded at ₹1,57,300 / kg (Silver 999 Fine).
