The state government has provided relief to journalists working in Andhra Pradesh. At a time when the accreditation cards currently in their possession are expiring, the state government has taken a key decision by extending their validity for another three months. Through this decision, media employees will get rid of temporary problems. They will get the facility to continue working. To this extent, the Director of the State Information and Public Relations Department, Himanshu Shukla, issued an official order on Friday. According to the order, this extension is applicable only to journalists whose accreditation cards are currently expiring on August 31. That is, journalists whose cards are about to expire can continue their work indefinitely through this three-month extension.

Old cards will remain valid
This decision has especially pleased employees in the media sector. Because without accreditation cards, it becomes difficult to perform many duties like news gathering and getting information at government offices. Moreover, the government has observed that some journalists have not been able to complete the new accreditation process due to Covid, financial challenges and other reasons . Keeping this in mind, a large number of journalists felt that it was the right decision to officially announce the three-month extension. As per the latest orders, the old cards will be valid from September 1 to November 30 or till the process of issuing new accreditation cards in the state is completed, Himanshu Shukla explained in the statement. Till then, whichever comes firstThis extension will be in effectHe said that this decision seems to have provided temporary relief to journalists who were worried about the expiry of their term .
