He recently became the longest-serving Prime Minister of the country without a break.The record held by Indira GandhiHe has surpassed it. As of July 25, 2025, he has completed 4,708 days as Prime Minister. With this, Narendra Modi has become the second person to have served as the Prime Minister of the country for the longest period . Indira Gandhi served as Prime Minister from January 24, 1966 to March 24, 1977 for 4,077 days. Among those who have achieved this feat, the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru is at the top.

Modi also holds the record for being the longest-serving non-Congress Prime Minister born after Independence.
