Along with Karnataka, rains are falling in many states from North India to East India . Normal rainfall in Himachal, Uttarakhand
Although Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have been receiving frequent and normal rainfall recently, there is no sign of any serious impact. However, precautions are advised as there is a risk of landslides due to rains in hilly areas.
The impact of this year’s monsoon
This year, the country has received more than normal rainfall due to the monsoon. From June 1 to July 17, the country received 468.2 mm of rainfall, which is 6 percent more than the normal 440.8 mm. Rajasthan recorded 32 percent more rainfall. However, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Odisha recorded 20-29 percent less rainfall.
