
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka released irrigation water for Sagar Ayacut,

Kusumanchi (Khammam District): Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said that the public government will take steps to ensure that the water of Krishna river is used abundantly in Telangana State . Deputy CM, State Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, District Collector Anudeep Durisetty. Along with Khammam Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt, they toured Kusumanchi mandal and released irrigation water for Kharif cultivation from Paleru Reservoir at Paleru through Nagarjuna Sagar Left Lal Bahadur Canal to Ayacut.

The farmers are 65 percent dependent on agriculture in producing food grains in the state
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti said that they are dependent on agriculture. Speaking at the program, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that water has been released to the 2 lakh 53 thousand acres of Nagarjuna Sagar ayacut under the Paleru reservoir. He said that many areas in Khammam district were flooded due to heavy rains in the first week of September last year, the main canal of Nagarjuna Sagar and many UTs were washed away, and they have been restored on a war footing. He said that currently 400 cusecs of water have been released and that water will be released at full capacity in 5 days on a regular basis .
